Robotic Surgery

AIOR Patna is East India’s first hospital offering Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgery for Knee and Hip Replacement. In a press event held today Dr. Ashish Singh, Consultant Orthopaedics and Robotics Joint Replacement Surgeon unveiled the Mako System.Dr. Singh said “Each patient’s bony anatomy is different and joint disorders like arthritis further tend to alter the anatomy. One of the challenges with traditional surgery is that our eyes and our hands can simply not be as good as a computer.Mako Robotic Arm-Assisted Surgery System allows surgeons to reproduce precise bone cuts for patients, every single time, first on a virtual 3D model and then in the OT. I was able to discharge all 10 patients within 72 hrs, they literally walked out of the hospital with walker support. This technology is a gamechanger for joint replacement surgeries."
